For the same price that I would be paying, I could get a better platter of sushi overseas, and no, it's not in Japan. We did not order the premium or special sushi so there might be a big difference.I'm not sure. We ordered Take Nigiri, and a few others to share but I just find the sushi pretty disappointing. I was looking forward to their sushi since their goods are supposedly flown from Japan. I'm not a connoisseur of Japanese food, nor have I tried a lot of Japanese food in the Philippines but my expectations and standards are quiet high for Authentic Japanese. Went to Tsukiji Japanese Resto in Makati due to good reviews I read about it. I don't recommend Tsukiji unless you have the patience of one or maybe two saints More Will give that a try and see if that can be my new go to place for Japanese food in Makati. There is an equally convenient, highly rated Japanese restaurant in the Dusit Thain hotel: Umu. That didn't workģ) In the end, we had to shout loudly enough to annoy all the nearby diners to get anyone to pay attention to us and take our order. Reality is yesterday, we pressed the service button at least 15x over 10 minutes and no one cameĢ) We resorted to waving down staff to get service. Whether they are all broken or they work but they are ignored by staff, I don't now. not so bad but has become a lot worse is:ġ) There are little gizmos on each table that you can press to get service, get the bill, etc. What I have appreciated is:ġ) Like the booths - lots of space and privacyĢ) Very good authentic Japanese food with fish sourced from Tokyo fish markets 2x a week I've eaten at Tsukiji at least 1/2 dozen times, always for lunch.
